the crucible.

you know its a good play when its themes apply to any era and/or group of people in time. most people know the crucible as a play about the salem witch trials. simple, right? well, hah, it’s not, it’s so much more complex and amazing than just that. it’s about the fear of being accused, about trying to save your ass, weeding out who stays and who goes, and how far will you go to stay alive. it applies to the 1950’s and the Red Scare (haha APUSH kids),  high school with the whole how far and how fake you will go to be like everyone else, and now with the “you’re a terrorist, die die die”. not many people seriously think about how far they will go when they’re in a position to save yourself. what will you give up, what you have to fake in order to be alive with the ones you love. will you take a live in order for that? yes everyone wants to be a hero a say, i’ll die for anyone. will you? when there are 5 murderers around you with knifes and ropes to gut you for information, will you start calling people out? how fake will you be? how real will you be? yeah, think about that, and see the crucible next week.

ode to dance.

i like getting freaked out. in a good way of course. haha. tonight was bittersweet. last concert to the seniors, who i have so much love and respect for. i’ll never forget anyone’s passion, drive, and grace. next year won’t be the same without anyone one of you. last
(dance) concert being a junior. HOLY CRAP. haha. senior toast was killing me. first words (and tears) from don rob, there everyone (or almost everyone) went, just crying and hugging. didn’t help that whitney houston’s “i will always love you” blasting in the back. it was the biggest, non-cheesy, yet cheesy at the same time moment i’ve ever had.
after everyones last dance, more crying. heck after everyone’s first dance they were crying. jsut tears, and joy, from everyone.
now the seniors are just taking each day at a time, tomorrow just prepping for prom, then p&p and music, then grad night, then they’re off into the real world that i hope theyre ready for. it’s insane. each day leads to another until, damn, the class of 08 are seniors and justin, andra, gabby, jill, arielle, me, and the rest of the senior dancers will be in the middle of that freaking circle, hearing a dramatic song in the background, being told that this is the beginning of the end.
so, all of you seniors, you all are amazingly beautiful people, and i love you all.

MO-DANCE! :]<3

its funny to see the type of people your friends become over time. what they become attached to, who be become attached to, who and what the let go. it intersting to see the transformation of interests in everyone, from when you first meet them, until the present. many people drop who they hate, and ironically enough, become like that very person (or people, whatever). many people criticize the flaws of others, then somehow adopt them into their own personality. haha i think its funny. everyone does it, even me. i guess the reason is because of that initial attachment, that first click between you and that person/interest will seriously bind to who you are forever, whether you notice it, or like it, or not. like velcrow. when you first stick the soft side to the throwry side, it binds real well, since its all fresh and new. then each time you separate fro the thorny part, the soft side becomes a little less pretty from each stick. its not like its broken, you can still use it, but the signs of every throny part that has stuck to it shows with every stick, and removal.
so even with the dropping and the attachments, you will always have a part of that person/interest, whether you want a part of them. obviously, you wanted to be rid of whatever and/or whoever. well too bad, you’re velcrow, son.
