yesterday was a quite lovely day. first of all, i got word of my housing assignment from my now official roomie kathryn! ahhh, we’ve all been sweatin about this pretty much this whole summer, anxiously waiting to know where we will live our first year, will we get our request? will we end up being roommates at all? or will our first year be entirely different than we expected?
we requested otero, the music hall (hah of course, being the lovely music kids from scpa) as our first choice. we got it! and we’re roommates, fersure, so all of our planning wasn’t washed by wack housing officers, who have screwed up a few people, frow what i read on facebook, hahah.
and with a strike of faith, tracy and james are in that hall too. wiith the odds of most of our class staying on campus, i would have never thought that 4 scpa people out of 8, let alone the LUNATICS ( and the dashing james :) ) would end up in the only music hall in the school. so, after the whole summer with hardly any contact with the moores, we’re in the same, 80-90 person hall. huzzah!
and good fortune for the other scpa-uci kids, like ryan, kelsey, arielle and charise, we’re all in the same community (mesa court) so, at least we don’t have to go hella far to see each other. and they got the halls they wanted! well, i dunno about charise or arielle, but i know ryan and kelsey did, so sweeeeet goodness. we were all very fortunate. of course, they are at the other end of the community, but sall good, a nice walk around mesa would be nice, especially to see good friends.
knowing all of this, i am even more excited than before, and i was already at a extreme excite level to begin with. OTERO!!!!! ahhh so excited. my spop hall, and now, my first year home :]

that was alot about just one event, hahaha. well anyways, after all that morning excitement, we had a little get together with a few relatives since my cousin’s uncle arrived from the bay area. let’s just say, it’s rediculously funny when a few cousins get together, and even funnier when the twins argue, hahahaha. oh i love them dearly.

now,the summer is sorta winding down. everyone’s going to school, while i anticipate the weekend of the 20th. also, i better buckle down on my audition piece, i have only three weeks!

also, happy belated birthday to aaron raga, his birthday was yesterday. miss you too man!

k, it’s only been lately that i’ve been paying a little more than some attention to politics. the democratic national convention was the big thing this week, and the republicans go next week.  i’ve never been too into politics, even with it’s large role in society. just whatever i see in the news, which i know isn’t enough being a future participant in our democracy. i feel bad that it’s taken me this long to take an interest in our government, and that it’s taken a showy form of media to really introduce me to the messages of our candidates. politics were never really pushed in my family. most of the time, my parents didn’t really vote, or told me about their opinions on the decisions of our government. growing up, all i got was what the tv said, which most of the time was biased, and those random headlines in the newpaper and the internet that i didn’t read or click on. but, since my attention is finally sparked, it’s time to start reading and clicking.
since, to be honest, i still do not know who i’m voting for. from what i know so far, obama and the democratic party’s got my vote. but fairness is persuading me to see the side of the republicans. or at least, have knowledge of their position.
yaaaay democracy.
